Is your front axle/A frame too low for the air conditioning unit?
The message from our customer:
Our caravan is a Swift Challenger 584 Sport and we had difficulty in citing the unit at first. Our intention was to hang it on the bedroom window but, with an island bed, it prevented us from walking passed it to the bathroom.
The other option was either on the front side windows but either of these options meant someone had to sit directly in front of the unit whilst it was working.
After talking to you about alternatives, you mentioned a table at the front. I thought about it for a while and came up with the idea of making a custom stand across the "A" frame. The frame folds flat when not in use and is stored easily plus weatherproof. The exterior unit stands on the frame and the umbilical feeds through the front window to the fan unit, which sits on the table between the seats either side - closing the window on the first catch only.
We used it for the first time in May and found that it worked perfectly. The lower setting was ideal for overnight use and the higher setting kept the caravan cool during the heat of the daytime sun. Our dog loved it!
To thank our helpful customer he receives a glass and faux leather hurricane lantern. Please contact us with your photographs or your ingenious way of using the unit and you too will recieve a lantern.
